Last Friday I went back to Kota Bharu with my family for Hari Raya. We were expecting for a terrible traffic jam because most of the people were going back to their hometown on the same day. We went off from our house at 7.30am and packed some food in case we arrived after buka puasa. Last time we already experienced arriving after buka puasa and we couldn't stop anywhere to get some food because there were too many cars stopping. The petrol stations were crowded and we also could not go to any restaurant that time. Luckily we got some biscuits. So this time we brought some food so that we don't have trouble if we stuck in a traffic jam.
At first the traffic were moving smoothly on the highway. Then when we moved to the two lanes road, the traffic became a bit slower due to many cars on the road. It was a one way traffic because most of the cars are heading North. Then before reaching Raub, its started to jam. We expected to arrive in KB at 1.00am in the morning like last time we went to KB during hari raya. Then there were alot of cars overtaking illegally from the left and right. It became two lanes heading the same way after that. I didn't know why alot of people wanted to break the law and made the jam even worse on the fasting month. We should be more patient during this month and don't make other people angry. I think God will be very angry to these people. We were very angry to these people and we were stuck in a traffic jam for one and a half hours. In the end, the traffic jam was caused by the policewomen and policemen. When we arrived Raub, there were a group of policewomen in front of the police station distributing goodies in conjunction with hari raya. My father was very angry for causing big jam but we all couldn't stop laughing at their stupidity. The 40km of traffic jam was caused by the police! They tried to do good deeds but at the wrong time. I felt very sad for the police. I think other cars were cursing to the police because they had wasted their time. Inside the goody bag there was mineral water, sweets, dates, stickers and maps showing the alternative roads. After that, the traffic were moving smoothly. The incident really made our day because it was too funny. During the whole journey, of course there was a few traffic jam because of the traffic light but the jam was not as bad as the jam we had at Raub. We arrived at 5.30pm and it took 10 hours to reached to Kota Bharu. Usually it only takes 7 hours from KL to KB. Here are some pictures that I want to show.
